I’m getting a new cell phone!

If you know me at all, you probably know that my current cell phone is worthless. The battery is being held on by tape and it lasts all of 30 minutes before needing to be charged again. So, I am switching service providers and getting a new phone. It’s free. With a free camera attachment. And a free car charger. And a free earpiece. Oh, yeah…and a $50 gift card. I’m excited. I will finally be able to download new ringtones so I don’t sound like everyone else out there. And set different ringtones for different people (not to mention, have their picture pop up). And have my IMs forwarded to my phone. :-D

Anyway, Thanksgiving was good. Here’s a cute picture of Critter:

Only two more days of class left! And I still have a lab and a paper due! 8O

Well, I’m excited.

I’m getting a group of people together to go to San Francisco in mid-May. Wired is holding Nextfest 2004, plus I want to go see “The Screen Savers.” :) So that’s something to get me through next semester.

I can’t believe there are only three more days of classes! And then finals…uggh..don’t want to think about that. I’ve gotten some more Christmas shopping done, so that’s good. I’m going home for Thanksgiving this week. Not looking forward to that drive.

So, just in case I don’t post again this week, I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!!

More pictures!

I decided on a whim to go ahead and put up my Christmas tree. I know, I know, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but I was in a mood, and I decided I should put it up just in case I didn’t get in the mood after Thanksgiving.

Yay!

I got my digital camera to work in Knoppix! Apparently there are some obscure things you have to do with Olympus cameras, including setting some obscure setting on the camera itself and removing some obscure module. But it works!

So here are some pics of my car, as promised, and one of a tree.

And for an update on the laptop…
I emailed Sager about either getting a replacement hard drive or switching my laptop out for the new Sager NP4780 and I mentioned getting a data recovery company to get the data off my dead hard drive. They warned me that this could void the warranty and told me to contact the hard drive maker. So I email Toshiba and ask. They said they didn’t do data recovery but referred me to DriveSavers. So now I’ve emailed them. Hopefully this will all be sorted out in a couple weeks, and hopefully my warranty won’t be voided since Toshiba didn’t really say anything about the warranty. But I figure if they referred me then it must be okay?

You know…

I’m thinking this is why Linux doesn’t work on my desktop anymore. And, as you can see, I am still stuck in Knoppix. Windows will work for about ten minutes at a time, which gives me enough time to get pics off my camera and upload them. Heh.

I was having fun taking random pictures of things around my apartment yesterday.

I need to take some of my car.

Here’s a couple of Tera:

My bookcases:

And one of me that I took using the nifty remote control:

So there’s only like 10 days of class left. Wow. I better start actually doing some work. :)

So, yeah…it’s my birthday.

I got a digital camera. So that’s cool.

Here’s some pictures from my celebration yesterday.

Yeah, I would post some more, but I don’t really know if my friends want their faces plastered all over my blog.

The highlight of the party? I got my candles done in binary. :-D

Okay, well, I haven’t made much progress on the laptop yet.

Been concentrating on school and stuff. I can’t believe that the semester is almost over. I wish that it was, but still. Heh…I walked into one of my math classes last week and thought I had walked into the wrong room. All the desks were clean. It was scary.

Anyway, this week is going slow because I am looking forward to the weekend. I need to figure out if someone can work for me on Sunday. I kinda want the day off for my birthday. :)

Grrr…

So I need to figure out a way and a place to store my data that is on my laptop. My desktop is no good because (a) it hardly has any hard drive space left, and (b) I expect it to die at any minute. In fact, I thought it did die last night and I was going to be left computerless. Somehow, Windows was the only thing that would boot (including Knoppix…strange, huh?) and it is giving me periodic errors saying that it can’t save stuff and files are missing. Yes, it is time to make sure the cell phone is charged so that people will have some way of reaching me in the near future.

I’m excited about my birthday party. If only it was tomorrow and not another week..

Well..blah…

My laptop kind of died on Halloween (or, more precisely, at 12:10 am on November 1, as witnessed by my webcam). Not really sure what is wrong with it, but I might need a new hard drive. :-P

But, good news…I am having a birthday party on the 15th! If you want to come, call or email me and I will give you the details (assuming that I know you). :)

Hmm…that’s about all the news I have.
