I love my TiVo.
I set it all up last night. I will take and post pictures at a later time (more on this in a sec). Now all my usual shows will be recorded, as well as things I never remember to watch, and any Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, or Renee Zellweger movie that comes on. Plus whatever TiVo wants to.
Never again will I forget about “Home Movies” (although it’s being moved back to 11 pm, so it would be doubtful that I would forget anyway). And I can catch up on all those episodes of “Kim Possible” that I never see. Yay!
So, I decided to try out the PC Linux OS live cd instead of Knoppix on my defunct desktop. First impression was good, very pretty and clean. I liked how it had Gaim 0.73 instead of like 0.59 or whatever I was using in Knoppix. And Apollon so I could download music. And then, I realized that it really sucks if you don’t have a hard drive. You can’t save anything. There is no ramdisk, like there is in Knoppix. So I still have it running, but I may switch back. I don’t know. Tera’s hard drive should be here soon.
Another thing I discovered about the PC Linux cd is that I can’t get USB to work. I took a picture of TiVo and was going to get it off the camera, but I can’t. Not that it matters, because I wouldn’t be able to save it anyway. So pictures will come when Tera’s hard drive gets here. Unless I switch back to Knoppix. I don’t know. TiVo may keep me so busy watching shows that I won’t be bored enough to just sit at the comp all day. Hehe.
I do know one thing. I definitely need that NIC and a bigger hard drive. Right now I have a phone cord stretched annoyingly across my living room. And I think TiVo’s hard drive is going to be full probably before the end of the week. Hehe. I’m off to count my money and see if I have enough to get one of the two.

I got a TiVo! *dances*
Here is a pic of someone who just got a TiVo:

Yay!
Now I just have to invest some money into getting some stuff to hack it (namely, an ethernet card and a bigger hard drive). And I will take pictures of everything I do. Yes, I am still obsessed with my camera. Hehe.
Here’s a couple other pics from the time I’ve been at home. One of Critter, who decided to lay down in a Gap box even though she didn’t quite fit, and one of the tree.

Well, I am about to pass out, so I will post more details later.

It’s Christmas Eve!
I went and saw “Mona Lisa Smile” last night with Brina. It was really good. Go see it.
Monday, I went wardriving with my brother Chris. Here is the map we got:

Lots of default SSIDs and not much encryption. I’ll have to do some more when I get Tera fixed up and I’m back in Clarksville.
Happy holidays!

Well, I lost this post the first time I wrote it, so hopefully I can remember everything.
I went and saw “Return of the King” last night. It was very good, the best of the three, I think.
I love my new phone. I was sending IMs during the intermission of the movie with it. Hehe.
I got my grades. Well, all but one. My math 300 grade isn’t up. Dunno what is up with that. I didn’t do that great this semester, but I did pass everything (assuming I passed math 300, that is). Next semester will be better.
I just finished reading “The Joy of Linux.” It was a good read, very funny at times, as well as informative. I highly recommend it to everyone, whether you use Linux or not.
And some good news: I got all the stuff I wanted off my desktop hard drives yesterday. So when my new hard drive for Tera comes in, she will only be missing a couple months worth of stuff. So yeah, that screenshot I posted a couple weeks ago of my Linux partition: it doesn’t really look like that.
I was able to get stuff off without any problems whatsoever. So the problem is definitely not the hard drives themselves.
I’ll be heading home soon for Christmas, so I don’t know how much I will be posting. Just in case, I will go ahead and wish everyone happy holidays!

I just thought of something.
In less than a year, I will be a college graduate. Hopefully. Scary.

It is such a nice day out today.
I was driving with my window down and my sleeves rolled up. It was great.
I got my new cell phone!! Here are a few pics of it. In the first one, the camera is attached at the bottom. In the last one, you can (sort of) see the picture I took of Tux and put as my background.

And here is a picture of my camera I took with my phone camera. Hehe.

I also finished Christmas shopping today! Yay!

Wow.
I just finished reading “Land of the Living” by Nicci French. I had forgotten how good “her” books are (it’s actually a husband/wife team). I think every one I have read, I have stayed up all night to read it.
But note to self: Perhaps reading thrillers about kidnappers and such is not a good thing to do when you want to go to sleep. I may be sleeping with the lights on tonight.

“And if I make it through today / Will tomorrow be the same / Am I just running in place / If I stumble and I fall / Should I get up and carry on / Or will it all just be the same” - Good Charlotte, “The Young and the Hopeless”
Will get my cell phone tomorrow. I wasn’t here when FedEx came by today. I finally mailed off my hard drive today. I need to remember to return Two Towers to Blockbuster before Saturday. And to pay my bills before Saturday.
I was standing in my bedroom today and I turned around and my hand hit the bed. There must have been something sharp or something because it sliced a small, thin chunk of my finger (isn’t that a lovely image?). It stopped bleeding awhile back, but it still stings really bad.
I don’t usually write a lot about my feelings in here. Usually because I have no idea who is reading this thing (well, I have a vague idea, but still..). I’ve just been feeling kind of blah today and I don’t really have anyone to talk to about it. Well, I do, of course, but I just don’t like burdening people with my problems. I tend to be a pretty private person and just keep things bottled up inside until I just burst and all these emotions come out at once. Kind of like right now. But I’m writing in here because I figure this way I’m not really burdening anyone because here people can choose to read it and/or respond to it, and there is no pressure.
Anyway, like I said, I’ve just been feeling kind of blah lately. I don’t really know why. Well, actually I have some ideas, but I don’t want to go into that. I just feel like there is something missing. I feel alone. Not necessarily lonely, though I feel that at times. Just alone. I know I have friends, but I just feel like I am sitting here in my apartment, doing whatever and that no one really cares.
I don’t know. Maybe it is just Seasonal Affective Disorder. Maybe I just need a hug.

Bah.
My cell phone and accessories are four miles down the road from me at the FedEx place. They got there at 7:00 this morning, but, of course, I have to wait till Monday to get them. Talk about making me impatient!
My new hard drive won’t be here till the new year, so I won’t have Tera to take home with me for Christmas.
However, my brother wants to go wardriving with his laptop, so I can get some maps of Clarksville that way.
I rented LotR: Two Towers last night, but when I got home, Fellowship of the Ring was in the case. So I have to take that back to Blockbuster today and get the right movie.

Yay, finals are finally over.
Now once I figure out if I have passed this semester or not, I can finally relax for a few weeks.
I’m sending off Tera’s hard drive tomorrow, so I should be getting her a new one soon. Let’s just hope I can get the data off of my desktop without any problems.
I had a fun little board game party last night. I cooked and my team won Cranium.
I found a recipe for these cute little penguins made out of olives, cream cheese, and carrots, so I made a few of them.

Last night was fun.
I went out with some friends to Ye Olde Steakhouse and had a really good filet and really yummy chocolate layer cake. I wore my new Armani shirt that I bought myself for Christmas.

This morning I found out that UT really sucks. One of the classes that I need to graduate, that I was planning on taking Fall 2004, is only being offered in the spring again, after I was promised that it would be offered in the fall! I can’t take it next semester because I don’t have the prereqs for it yet. I am going to be so mad if this delays my graduation for another semester.

It’s 3:30 am.
I am writing a paper. I am on page 3. Of 8. No sleep for me tonight.
On top of that, I realized at about 8:00 that I had no printer paper. So I had to go get some. Then I couldn’t get Knoppix to print. Didn’t want to mess with it since I wanted to get started on the paper, so I booted to Windows and printed some stuff that I needed. Well my screwed up computer kept skipping words and lines, so I have basically a lot of nonsense on those pages. Therefore, I will have to “get up” early to go to the lab and print the paper.
Assuming I finish.
