I have a new favorite store!

I went to the mall after work today to find something to wear to those weddings next Saturday. Tried Proffitt’s and Dillard’s with no luck whatsoever. So I started just walking down the mall, seeing if anything would catch my eye. I was on my way to Sam Goody when I saw that B. Moss was having a 40% off sale on dresses. I thought, why not? So I went in. The people who worked there were super nice, and as soon as I picked up an item, they would go put it in a dressing room for me. I ended up getting a dress there, as well as a suit, a pair of pants, and a blouse. All on sale. Plus I got free gift certificates for the next time I shop there. :-D

Also, it felt really nice out today. It was about 60 degrees out. But I wish someone would tell those teenagers that were walking around the mall that that is not an excuse to break out the halter tops and belly shirts. Sheesh. I must be getting old.

So many things to look forward to that it is quite sad that it is only February 27.

Tickets go on sale to Nextfest on March 1. Spring break starts March 6, and I have two weddings to go to that day. I also am gonna be helping my best friend with her wedding plans while I’m in Clarksville. On March 9, the bands that are playing at this year’s Music Midtown will be revealed, so I can see if I want to get tickets to that, and tickets to that go on sale on March 13. April 7 is the Jewel concert. April 17 is the APC concert. April 30 through May 2 is Music Midtown, assuming I go. And then around May 12, I’m going to San Fran!

Really, that’s a lot of traveling in the next few months. Clarksville. Indianapolis. Atlanta. Asheville. San Francisco. Wow.

Hmm…well this has been a wasted day.

I worked on the site some. Added the little section called “Stuff I Own,” since I wanted to play with mySQL some. Added pictures of the snow to the photo gallery and reworked it so it sorted the albums in descending order. I don’t want to look at PHP for awhile now.

It’s still snowing. It stopped for awhile and most of it melted, but it started up again.

Wow, today’s blog entries have been really boring.

I spoke too soon.

I stepped out the door at 9 am to go to class and everything was covered in snow. If things became covered that much in 30 minutes, I really don’t know if I should be driving (flashback to last year when it started snowing while I was in class and it took me four hours to get home). Instead, however, I think I will take a picture every hour just to see progress.

Meteorologists are liars.

There was this whole big deal yesterday about how we were getting 4 to 8 inches of snow that night, and how it was going to start snowing after midnight and continue until like 6 pm. I was like, great, no school hopefully! So when I wake up this morning, I look out the window: no snow. Doesn’t even look like it attempted to snow. Yet all the schools in the area are closed, with the exception, of course, of UT. Bah. It’s supposed to snow for the rest of the day, but I will believe that when I see it.

Okay, Tera is playing with my head.

I turned her off for awhile and then restarted her and now pcmcia works again. ???? I mean, I’m not complaining, but what is going on? People ask me how I know Tera is a female. THIS IS HOW.

I am not happy.

I got to work today, pulled out my laptop, went to go sign on aim, and nothing. First, I thought maybe campus wireless was down. Nope. There were no lights blinking on my wireless card. I did a few things to try to get it to work and nothing. I rebooted. Nothing. So then I notice that neither Windows or Linux is detecting pcmcia on the laptop. Wonderful. So, I suppose now in addition to getting the headphone jack and the subwoofer fixed, I need to get my pcmcia slot fixed also. Just great. I highly doubt I will ever buy a Sager again. I seriously did not pay that much money to have something on this thing break every freaking month. Ugggh!

I went and returned that Stabbing Westward CD at McKay’s today.

However, their credit card machine was down, so they couldn’t refund my card and gave me store credit instead. So now I have $9 that I can spend at McKay’s. :)

After I did that, I went home. I had to be back on campus at 6 pm for my 365 project class, so I decided at about 3:30 that I would take a quick nap, since there was no way I would sleep more than two hours. I woke up at 6 pm and I was very disoriented. I looked at the clock, and I thought it was 6 am for a couple minutes. Anyway, I missed the class. I guess I was more tired than I thought.

I ordered some more stickers for the back of my car. You can probably guess what they are, but I’m not saying anything. I will take pictures when I get them. :-D

Got my APC tickets in the mail today. Yay!

It clearly reads on the ticket “No cameras / Search required,” so I gotta figure out a good place to stick my stealth cam so that they don’t find it. Hehe.

I ended up dropping 494. Was just too behind, and today was the last day you could drop with a W. I just need to catch up in 365 now. Being sick is really bad for schoolwork.

I broke down and bought Jewel tickets.

They went on sale this morning, so I decided just to see what kind of tickets I would get. 10th row center. I couldn’t resist buying a ticket. This concert is in Asheville and I have class the next day. Ugggh. Anyway, the concert is on April 7, so it will give me a good opportunity to practice with the stealth cam before the APC concert. :-D

I decided last night to see how well the cam took pics in low light conditions. Here’s a pic of my car in a parking lot on campus:

Yay!

So, I’m going to see A Perfect Circle on April 17.

And Maynard’s birthday is April 17.

This concert is gonna rule.

Got my stealth cam today and went out driving and played with it. Here’s a few images (there are more in the gallery):

Kingston Sunset

Not too shabby, eh? It will certainly suffice for the concert! :-D

I went to McKay’s while I was out and bought a Stabbing Westward CD, only to discover when I got home that it was an edited version and wasn’t labeled as such. So I am gonna see if they will take it back or something. If I’m gonna pay $9 for something, I want the whole thing.

I found out today that another friend of mine is going to be getting married on March 6. So I will just be wedding hopping that day, I suppose.

Ugh, I hate school.

494 is kicking my butt. I got so behind last week when I was sick, and now I’m just thinking about dropping the class. My second program is late, and I have no hopes of figuring out where I’ve gone wrong. My first program didn’t get that great of a grade. And this class has a grade that is only based on the five or so programs that we will be doing. And it definitely does not help that the class is done over video and the prof is in Nashville. I can’t really just go talk to him whenever I want (and if I do, I get 25% of my lab grade taken off). Yeah, it’s not going well.

On top of that, I am supposed to be graduating in the fall. So I would have to take another CS class next fall in order to do that. That’s four CS classes. I may just go part time in the fall and the spring and extend this another semester. I won’t have my scholarship to worry about, so part time is all I will need to do to keep my grants.

I don’t know. I don’t feel like I am learning anything that will ever be useful to me. I thought my nightmare class this semester was going to be 311 (since I hated math 300 so much), but that is the only class I can get up and drag myself to and not want to fall asleep in. Why do I go through this every semester?

I really don’t like Tuesdays. I’m trying to ignore the stress. It’s not easy.

I’m physically feeling almost 100% now. I will definitely be back to normal and back to the grind tomorrow. Emotionally I am not as well, but I am working on that.

I got a wedding invitation in the mail today. It was from one of my good friends in high school that I haven’t really talked to in a year. I need to see who else was invited so I can figure out if I will be going by myself or not.

I also finally got my Salival boxset in the mail today, after weeks of trying to find one at a good price. I didn’t get it for as cheap as I would like, but it was less than the going price on eBay. So I spent part of the afternoon watching Tool videos and staring at them in a very puzzling way.

After moaning over the anti-camera rule at concerts, I decided that I was going to have to be sneaky at the APC/TMV concert. So I got myself a James Bond Stealth Camera. So hopefully I will be able to sneak in a few pics at the concert in April. The seats are first come, first serve, so if we get there early, I should be able to get a good view. :)

I’m in Medieval Studies right now. I don’t know what it is about this class, but I just cannot concentrate on anything being said at all. I just hear like a monotonous buzzing or something. I know something important is being said, but I have no idea what it is.

Okay, a couple things have gone on today…

First of all, I forgot that I had a doctor’s appointment at 11:00 this morning. I didn’t even get out of bed until 11:15. And it was around noon when I realized that OH YEAH, I was supposed to go to the doctor an hour ago. Oh well. I’m not really sick anymore. Just sniffley.

Second thing is, I’m gonna see A PERFECT CIRCLE and THE MARS VOLTA in concert!!!! I got tickets to the show in Indianapolis on April 17, which is the closest one at the moment. I’m hoping they come to Atlanta in May, but who knows if they will or if I will be in SanFran at that time, so I thought I should go ahead and go. YAY!!

Jewel is going to be in Asheville on April 7th. I haven’t decided if I am going to that yet or not. Tickets don’t go on sale until the 21st, so I don’t even know how much they are yet.

Today has gone okay.

Didn’t do a whole lot. I am feeling a lot better though. Went to work, worked on my lab some. It’s going good.

American Dreams was good tonight. Kind of made me teary.

I decided to try to start writing in a journal again. I am hoping it will help me get back in touch with the real me and try to figure out some of these thoughts and feelings floating around in my head. It’s helping so far. I think I will go relax in the tub with a good book now.

I am just a worthless liar. / I am just an imbecile. / I will only complicate you. / Trust in me and fall as well.

I am feeling better.

Yesterday, I woke up without neck pain, following the doctor’s instructions not to sleep on my stomach. So my sleep wasn’t as great, but the pain wasn’t there. I also didn’t feel any nausea. I did, however, seem to have come down with a cold or allergies or something because I was sniffling and sneezing all day. Anyway, I ended up going wardriving for an hour or two. Here is the map:

Knoxville wardriving map

So, I will be going into work today. My head is still a little fuzzy, but I will be okay. I got a slight extension on my 494 lab, so I will be working on that today. Hmmm…don’t know if there is much else to say.

I need to start planning my SanFran trip. Tickets go on sale to Nextfest on March 1! Yay!

Well I went around 1:30.

First thing they did after I filled out a form was make me put on one of those silly masks in case I was contagious. I felt like I complete dork. And then I was so concerned with this that I left my purse out in the waiting room when I went back to the room to get checked out. Anyway, I don’t have meningitis, but I do have some sort of virus and I have strained my neck somehow. I got a lot of drugs from the doctor, and they make me feel a lot better. The two-hour nap I just took made me feel better too.

However, I just did some dishes from the party last weekend and EW. The pans that the enchiladas were cooked in smelled really, really gross. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to move them from the sink to the dishwasher. Somehow I made it though. Yeah, that was the grossest thing I have ever smelled in my life.

Tomorrow I am going to do absolutely nothing. I am supposed to be taking it easy, drinking lots of fluids, and eating nothing but crackers. Yet I really want a pizza. :(

Ugggh…

Going to the student health center sometime between 1 and 3:30. I really hope it’s nothing too serious. I still feel very much blah. I’m trying to decide right now whether I think I can make it into work today or not. I’m leaning towards not right now. :(
