:-D

I’m in an extraordinarily good mood today. As was I yesterday. And most of the weekend. Hopefully this will continue.

The Jewel concert is a week from tomorrow! I didn’t realize how close it was! That means that TMV/APC are only two and a half weeks away. I should probably make sure that I can get people to cover for me at work.

I can’t remember if I mentioned it, but I got tickets to APC in Atlanta on May 15. They went on sale last Friday, so I picked up a couple floor tickets. I’ll probably drive to Atlanta straight from Clarksville, since I will be there for Sabrina’s graduation on the 14th (lucky!!!).

I’ve got to remember to get some quarters tomorrow so I can do laundry. It’s all sorted, but I’ve only got enough quarters for one load. And I have six loads. I also have two checks I need to cash. So I will try to get to the bank before work tomorrow.

Hopefully I will be seeing Eternal Sunshine again this weekend. :-D

Okay, now that I’m awake..

Eternal Sunshine was an excellent movie. Far better than anything I have seen in a long time, and perhaps destined to become a favorite. I want to go see it again. It was just so different from anything else I have ever seen. And it reminded me why Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are both two of my favorite actors. Okay, I’m really not going to gush too much. You just need to go see it. It is worth that $8.

Something that was kind of cool was that I got recognized last night by someone that works at the theatre. He said to me, “You work in the CS department, right?” I don’t know if that makes me feel good or stalked. Good, I think.

I’m at work right now. I am covering for someone today plus my regular shift, so I will be sitting here for a nice seven hours, munching on Famous Amos cookies and some hot chocolate cause it’s freezing in here. I don’t know what I’m doing tonight.

Also, I would like to wish a happy birthday to Steve. He is 23 today. :)

I just got back from seeing Eternal Sunshine.

Go see it.

Now.

I’m tired.

It’s been a busy last few days. I’m working all this weekend, plus I’ve been hanging around with some new people and doing stuff. Tonight I’m going to go see Eternal Sunshine. Yay!! I’m really excited about that.

I went and did a little shopping yesterday with some gift cards and gift certificates that I had. I ended up getting three shirts, a pair of black capris, and a DVD, as well as two more CDs at McKay’s.

I’m loving this weather. I’m so happy that it isn’t cold anymore. :)

The other day I had a big chocolate craving.

Whoops.

The only thing I could find, however, was a bag of chocolate chips. So I started eating some of them. After my craving subsided, I set them on the coffee table.

Today, I went to go plug in my laptop, which had been running for about an hour. The chocolate chips were right behind Tera. Right where the hot air was blowing out of her.

So now I have a bag of melted chocolate chips.

In other news, the Tool sticker on my car has done wonders for car flirting. I didn’t get a lot of car flirting before it, usually only on the Interstate. Now I just have random guys drive up beside to me to tell me I rock. As if I didn’t know. ;)

And now for today’s rant…

There is a commuter parking lot on campus that is closer to all my classes than the other parking lots. It’s small, since it used to be a tennis court, and so there is a very limited number of spots in it. Usually people will wait around in it till someone comes and then take their spot as soon as they leave. Everyone does this.

So, I got to campus at like 3:05 today, since my medieval studies test was at 3:40. I went to the parking lot and waited for someone to come. At about 3:15, a girl comes in. She is on her cell phone. She walks to her SUV, sets her sweater on the hood of her car, reaches for the door handle…. And then stands there. Talking on her cell phone. Knowing I am right there, waiting for her spot.

After a few minutes, she opens the door of the SUV. Then stands there and talks some more. A minute later, she picks her sweater off the hood and throws it inside. Then stands there…and talks some more. I had my window down, since it was such a nice day, and I had my music down pretty low, so I wonder if she could hear me muttering under my breath. Probably not.

Or she was probably laughing about me to her little friend on the phone.

Anyway, at 3:20–five whole minutes since she got there, let me remind you–she finally gets in the SUV. But does she start it up and leave? No. She sits there and talks a bit more. Finally, finally, around 3:22 she finally leaves and I get her spot.

That’s seven minutes I could have been studying.

Then maybe I wouldn’t have had to BS so much on that test.

Plans, plans, plans….

Okay, first of all, I seriously doubt I am going to San Francisco. Really, that’s just money I can use when I move to Seattle. Plus then I can go to Sabrina’s graduation on the 14th and the APC concert in Atlanta on the 15th, which will be just as fun and much cheaper. And I don’t feel like I’m betraying my best friend for a vacation. ;) I can always go to Nextfest another year. I just really need the money right now.

Second, The Darkness concert is already sold out. So that’s a no go.

Tickets go on sale to the Atlanta APC show on Friday. So I have a few days to decide.

I really, really, really want to go see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Really, really bad. I need a date.

Hehe.

I took this Ph.D.-formulated physical attraction quiz over at match.com earlier just to see what it said I was and wasn’t attracted to. Of course, the entire time I was taking it, I was mumbling to myself, “It’s just going to tell me I like pretty boys.” Anyway, here are the highlights:

My typical type.

Another guy who is my type.

This one was a maybe.

Not my type.

Looking at over 10,000 women in your age group who have taken the test, about 20% are attracted to the same types you are.
Interestingly enough, 62% weren’t attracted to my type at all. Weird.

It’s official: You’re “picky.” The fact is you are drawn to the most handsome of the handsome. You know what you like in men and are more selective than most women your age.
Yeah, I didn’t need a test to tell I’m picky. I knew that.

It’s hard to find a man with the strong features you like, who’s also well-rounded in other ways. Still, you know the importance of a real physical “spark” in a relationship, and aren’t willing (or able) to settle for less.
Or to sum up: no one will ever meet my high expectations.

You are very selective, compared to most women, in the types of men you find appealing. You’re wowed by “movie star” good looks, and in general, appreciate men with “traditional” or “mainstream” appeal. You probably face a lot of competition going after the most popular guys.
This may explain why I never get the guy I want.

You especially liked a pattern scientists refer to as “Ectomorphs.” Geometrically, they are similar to triangles, because they are widest at the cheekbones and then narrow to a relatively pointed chin. Ectomorph men are said to have “angular” features, including a chiseled nose and prominent cheekbones. Historically, these faces have been viewed as distinguished and were often found on European royalty.
So…they are telling me that I need a prince?

Some may call one of your types “Pretty Boys,” but all you know is that they’re gorgeous.
See? I called it. Apparently only 33% of women are attracted to pretty boys though. I also like the type of “boy next door,” which 18% of women like.

According to the photos you selected, you like men with so-called “triangular” faces. The triangle face is wide at the temples and hairline, tapering to a small pointed chin. Men with this face type tend to look youthful, even “boyish” most of their lives.

You seemed especially interested in men with brown eyes. In the test, you may not have even noticed eye color on a conscious level. However, those smoldering brown eyes apparently stood out to you on an unconscious level. Supposedly, brown eyes give the impression of softness and mystery.
I wasn’t looking at eye color at all, so this was odd, considering I have always liked dark eyes.

You have an eye for men with attractive noses.
That statement scares me a bit.

You love men with big, happy smiles. You were much less interested in photos where the men had small grins or serious expressions. Although you probably didn’t notice this tendency, the preference for big smiles fits your overall interest in men who look fun, friendly, and approachable.

Good hair on a guy seems to be a real turn-on for you, but the right length is important. You like the hair just over the ears and long on top. You’ve got to have enough hair to run your fingers through, but you don’t want a guy with hair that’s longer than yours!
So very true.

So, yeah…it was very interesting. I’m not sure if I agreed with everything my results told me, but some of the pictures in the test were flying by so fast it was hard to get a good look at them. If anyone else wants to take it, here’s the link: http://attraction.match.com/PhysicalAttractionTest.aspx
You may have to be a match.com member or sign up or something.

Am I a geek?

You are 55% geek
You are a geek. Good for you! Considering the endless complexity of the universe, as well as whatever discipline you happen to be most interested in, you’ll never be bored as long as you have a good book store, a net connection, and thousands of dollars worth of expensive equipment. Assuming you’re a technical geek, you’ll be able to afford it, too. If you’re not a technical geek, you’re geek enough to mate with a technical geek and thereby get the needed dough. Dating tip: Don’t date a geek of the same persuasion as you. You’ll constantly try to out-geek the other.

Yay!

Tera came today. They replaced her LCD cover because it was cracking, so I will have to get new stickers for her. She looks so new.

Her sub is much better now. I can now enjoy my music without external speakers. Yay!

Put the pics I took with the stealth cam over spring break up in the gallery.

Of course.

Stupid UPS. I believe they have some sort of conspiracy. Ten MINUTES after I left for class, they attempted to deliver Tera. BAH. I can just see them, all “Okay, she’s left home. Let’s go.” Grr.. Now I have to wait till tomorrow, when I am sure they will wait till 4:35 right after I have left for work to stop by.

My midterm was decent.

I am fairly confident that I did well. Although, whenever I say that, I usually end up doing horrible, so maybe I should shut up before I jinx myself.

I’m at home right now relaxing until medieval studies at 3:40. I’m almost certain that Tera will come when I’m in class. UPS likes to come around 4:00. Blah. But I can’t skip this class, since I need to know what’s going to be on the exam on Tuesday.

I need to clean my apartment. It seriously looks like a tornado hit it. I’m embarrassed every time I walk through the door. I really wish I liked to clean.

Well, I feel much better today! Apparently it was only some 24-hour thing. Yay!

I decided to be a rebel today and not wear green. ;) I went black instead. Anyway, it seems I will be spending the rest of my St. Patty’s day studying for my 311 midterm that’s tomorrow morning. I already studied some a couple weeks ago when I didn’t know the date for it was changed, but yeah…I’ve slept since then. Must memorize formulas. This test shouldn’t be too bad. More worried about my medieval studies exam next Tuesday. I suppose I should go to class tomorrow.

Tera is in Nashville! She will be here sometime tomorrow.

Blah.

I would like to thank Steve for giving me whatever illness he had while I was in Indiana. ;) I feel blah.

My new hair color is definitely growing on me. It’s a good summer look.

I think I’m gonna go dig through my refrigerator for some Sunny D and rewatch A Perfect Circle on Leno last night. My throat is killing me.

I decided to dye my hair today.

I was going to dye it black with red streaks, but when I got to the the hair dye aisle in Wal-Mart, I chickened out and got dark brown with red highlights instead. Except, I should never go for a career as a hairdresser cause apparently I suck at highlighting. It came out a little more orangey than I wanted. It still looks cool, but not at all what I have been picturing in my head for the past few days. Hmm. I need a haircut.

Back in Knoxville. Back to my apartment. Back to work. Back to school. Back to where I don’t want to be.

Really seriously thinking of moving to Seattle this summer. I just have to see if I can get money saved up and how well my credits will transfer to U of Washington. It wouldn’t be happening till the end of July, so I’m going to finish out this semester here (and try not to go insane in the process) and get some insanely boring but well-paying job this summer so I can save money. And no spending money for San Francisco. Well, not a whole lot anyway. Haven’t fully decided if I am going to Music Midtown yet. Will have to see the other bands that are going to be there before I decide if I want to spend $45 + hotel room. Probably need to get rid of my phone line in my apartment too. That’s $40/month for something I never use.

I’m really looking forward to this. I need a change of scenery so bad. I just hope I can afford it. If I can’t afford my own place right off, I may be living with my best friend for a month or two, who is also moving there in May. And, if anyone out there that reads my blog lives in Seattle, please recommend good pizza places! I will miss Mellow Mushroom!

Anyway, got some spring break pics up in the gallery. More will come when I get Tera back.

Hmm, I’m really tired.

Heading back to Knoxville tomorrow. I need to get some stuff worked out and see what is going on in my life. I may be moving this summer. I don’t know yet.

Tera got shipped today, UPS style. So I should get her in a few days. Unfortunately, I left my AC adapter and wireless card back in Clarksville, so I’m depending on my mom to get those shipped out to me.

I am optimistic about the future. What is meant to be will be.

I am happy and I am miserable.

I feel as though my life is a puzzle I have been working on and the last piece is just out of my reach. I can’t complete it. Maybe someday in the future I will be able to get to it, but for now I’m just going to have to keep reaching.

I am lost in the darkness / Between two worlds and here I’m struggling / You’re the light that I’ve been seeking / ‘Cause my whole life there’s been something missing / Only you / Can make me whole / Just one touch / And you complete me / Only you / Can make me whole / Just one touch / And you complete me — Stabbing Westward

Not a whole lot going on.

Got Tera shipped off today, FedEx style, to Sager to get her sub and headphone jack back into working order. Track her here.

Music Midtown decided to delay announcing the band lineups for two more days, so I won’t know anything about that until Thursday.

Gonna start planning the San Fran trip next Monday.

A Perfect Circle is also going to be on Leno next Monday, so set your VCRs and TiVos.
