History of Board Games

I found this infographic on mental_floss today, and since I loooooove board games, I thought I would post it! The biggest thing I learned here: They are making a Monopoly movie???

The first Nashville board game party was successful.

Had a decent turn out. Played Buzz Word and ’90s Trivial Pursuit. The two trays of pigs in a blanket I made were all eaten. Pictures are up, of course.

I’m going back to bed now.

Everything should pretty much be working.

The only thing I haven’t quite figured out is why, on the main page, the full name of the month under “latest blog post” won’t display correctly. It only shows up as the first letter. I’m stumped on this one. I may have to go directly into the database to get that information instead of using Wordpress’s nice little functions.

I added Board Games under the “Stuff I Own” section, since I frequently get asked what games I have when a board game party gets close. That’s not all of them, but it’s all the ones that Amazon had listed. I also have Titanic: the Board Game, Alibi, and Careers.

I’m also working on a calendar app right now that will show all the information from the events section plus any blog posts that have been made. One day I may add days reviews were posted, but that would require me reformatting the review database and I just don’t feel up to that right now.

Anyway, let me know if anything funny is going on. I’ve tested this under Firefox 1.5 and IE 6.0 under Windows XP and everything seems to be looking good, but let me know if it shows up funny on your Mac or something.

It’s the end of the month already.

The board game party on Saturday went well, although we only played two games, both of which lasted forever! We’ll be having another one towards the end of February, since we didn’t even get to play Alibi. I forgot to bring my camera to the party so I had to borrow someone else’s camera; therefore, it might be a few days before pictures are up. :)

The Strokes are coming to Nashville on March 6!! Yay!!

Still job hunting…

Edit: Pictures are now up!

Tentative date for next board game party: March 18

We will be playing (among other things) Betrayal at House on the Hill, which you can read about here. :)

Need sleep.

Board game party was fun. Pictures are up, as usual.

I just received a notice today that said my rent was going up. Again. I can’t even afford what it is now. Bleh.

Insomnia is not cool.

It’s Monday morning…ugh.

This weekend was pretty fun. Friday night I went out to Mellow Mushroom with some friends. Yummmm. I think I could live off Mellow Mushroom. If I end up moving, that will probably be the thing I miss the most. ;) Of course, maybe I should move to Atlanta where Mellow Mushrooms are in abundance. Hehe.

Anyway, then Saturday night I went to a party at some friends’ house. I had a blast. I finally won a game of Egyptian Ratscrew (because I was sober) and lost Twister (because I was drunk…well, not entirely. The first game I got pushed over by someone who wasn’t even playing and I was really tired after that, plus just had no balance). So, anyway, Ben and I still have to do our Twister rematch. But sober this time. It needs to be fair. :)

I meant to bring my camera to the party, but I forgot it. I had a million things on my mind. I even had to turn around once on my way there and come back because I had left my cell phone. And I still forgot the camera. So no pictures. :( But I did have an absolute blast. And that’s all I’m going to say. ;)

Finals are this week. Uggh. I have one tomorrow and two on Thursday. Uggh.

Okay, now that I’m (somewhat) more alive…

This weekend was pretty fun. Brina came in on Friday and we went out to Bailey’s and some places on the strip. We met up with one of our old friends from high school and hung out with him.

Saturday was, of course, the board game party. For some quick recaps: Ernie is never drinking jager again. I still can’t find the missing Jenga piece. Egyptian Rat Screw is very addicting. I’m really good at Scene It’s alternate movie titles. Never play Twister for longer than like 10 minutes at a time. Ouch. Colonel Mustard in the dining room with the lead pipe (I won). Life is a boring game.

And my mouse is smart. I had one trap go off, but no mouse. And the cheese was gone from another one. Grr. If he was so smart, he wouldn’t have let me see him in the first place!

I would also like to add that I hate it when I figure out that I’ve been lying to myself about something. So annoying. Everything is just so complicated.

Wow.

My party lasted from 8 pm to 10 am. The pictures speak for themselves.

Ahh…

Party was good. :) Sabrina and I were on a team for Scene It? and Cranium. We won Scene It? but lost Cranium. We were also on a team with Chris for Taboo, and we won that. ;) They were all very close games, though (well, we weren’t that close at all in Cranium actually…but I did learn that I can’t spell that well after I’ve been drinking–especially backwards).

Two drinks are better than one Party til we die!

Brina and I went dress shopping at White Lace and Promises today. She tried on a bunch and fell in love with two. I also tried on one bridesmaids’ gown.

Isn't she lovely? Meee

Yay, finals are finally over.

Now once I figure out if I have passed this semester or not, I can finally relax for a few weeks.

I’m sending off Tera’s hard drive tomorrow, so I should be getting her a new one soon. Let’s just hope I can get the data off of my desktop without any problems.

I had a fun little board game party last night. I cooked and my team won Cranium. :-D I found a recipe for these cute little penguins made out of olives, cream cheese, and carrots, so I made a few of them.
