I need sleep.

It’s been a busy (but fun) last few days, and it seems that trend will continue throughout the week.

I’m going to mail Tera off after I get off work today. Frustrating, but necessary since she won’t even turn on anymore.

I saw Eternal Sunshine again last Friday. May be going to see it again soon. Such a great movie!

Jewel concert is on Wednesday! Yay! I will be taking my stealth cam to practice for the APC concert. I will be in the tenth row at this concert, so hopefully I can get some decent shots.

Going to Clarksville for the weekend.

Brina is coming to visit the weekend of the 23rd. Going to have another board game party, hopefully.

I’ve got a paper and a java program due on the 22nd. I need to find some time to work on those.

:-D

I’m in an extraordinarily good mood today. As was I yesterday. And most of the weekend. Hopefully this will continue.

The Jewel concert is a week from tomorrow! I didn’t realize how close it was! That means that TMV/APC are only two and a half weeks away. I should probably make sure that I can get people to cover for me at work.

I can’t remember if I mentioned it, but I got tickets to APC in Atlanta on May 15. They went on sale last Friday, so I picked up a couple floor tickets. I’ll probably drive to Atlanta straight from Clarksville, since I will be there for Sabrina’s graduation on the 14th (lucky!!!).

I’ve got to remember to get some quarters tomorrow so I can do laundry. It’s all sorted, but I’ve only got enough quarters for one load. And I have six loads. I also have two checks I need to cash. So I will try to get to the bank before work tomorrow.

Hopefully I will be seeing Eternal Sunshine again this weekend. :-D

I broke down and bought Jewel tickets.

They went on sale this morning, so I decided just to see what kind of tickets I would get. 10th row center. I couldn’t resist buying a ticket. This concert is in Asheville and I have class the next day. Ugggh. Anyway, the concert is on April 7, so it will give me a good opportunity to practice with the stealth cam before the APC concert. :-D

I decided last night to see how well the cam took pics in low light conditions. Here’s a pic of my car in a parking lot on campus:
My car in the dark

Yay!

This concert is gonna rule.

Okay, a couple things have gone on today…

First of all, I forgot that I had a doctor’s appointment at 11:00 this morning. I didn’t even get out of bed until 11:15. And it was around noon when I realized that OH YEAH, I was supposed to go to the doctor an hour ago. Oh well. I’m not really sick anymore. Just sniffley.

Second thing is, I’m gonna see A PERFECT CIRCLE and THE MARS VOLTA in concert!!!! I got tickets to the show in Indianapolis on April 17, which is the closest one at the moment. I’m hoping they come to Atlanta in May, but who knows if they will or if I will be in SanFran at that time, so I thought I should go ahead and go. YAY!!

Jewel is going to be in Asheville on April 7th. I haven’t decided if I am going to that yet or not. Tickets don’t go on sale until the 21st, so I don’t even know how much they are yet.

Puddle of Mudd so rocked!!

Guitar pick!

The doors were supposed to open at 8:00, so we went down there about 30 mins early so we could be sure to get a good view. We stood outside in the cold for 30 minutes, instead of going into Tonic. Then when we got inside, we decided to go over to Tonic and get drinks anyway. We are silly. We went back over to Blue Cats then, and I talked to some random people that were standing around. I vaguely remember telling them all to use Linux. Anyway, so Smile Empty Soul came on at about 9:00. I only know one of their songs, but they were pretty cool. After that, Puddle of Mudd came on. I have never screamed so much at a concert before. I was totally into it (er, or the alcohol was totally into it…one of the two). I can’t remember all the songs they played. They definitely played all their hits, and “She Hates Me” was part of the encore. I couldn’t see much (being short sucks sometimes), but it was still very much awesome! After the concert was over, I bought a t-shirt, Sabrina called our cab, and then I went and talked to everyone in the bathroom. Heh. When we were waiting for the cab, this guy came up to us and started talking. And he gave us Puddle of Mudd guitar picks!! I tried to talk him into letting us meet the band, but then our cab showed up.

Overall, it was a great night!!

I just impulsively bought Puddle of Mudd tickets.

They are playing at Blue Cats on February 8. I saw this and immediately bought two tickets. I don’t even know who is going with me. But someone will. I hope. Cause I have two tickets. :)

Shhh…I’m in English.

Got some more Jewel pics from the Atlanta show. These were taken by Spark St. Jude. I have way too many to post here, so here’s some of the best ones.

Okay…back to taking notes…

Back from the Jewel concert!!

It was great!

Okay, well, since this show wasn’t really supposed to happen, Jewel didn’t have a set list. So the first thing she did was ask the audience what they wanted to hear, and she played from suggestions. I can’t remember the exact order of the songs, so here is a list organized by album. I might have forgotten a few, but this is basically it:
Pieces of You: “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “Foolish Games,” “Near You Always,” “Morning Song,” “I’m Sensitive,” “You Were Meant For Me”
Spirit: “Hands,” “Enter from the East,” “Life Uncommon”
This Way: “Standing Still,” “The New Wild West,” “Grey Matter”
0304: “Intuition,” “2 Become 1″
Other: “Passing Time,” “Cold Song,” “Race Car Driver,” “Chime Bells”
She also sang a song acappella in another language, maybe Italian? It was opera-ish.

The best part of any Jewel concert is her narrative. She told us how she came to write “Race Car Driver.” When she was 18, she said her car broke down on the highway and so she decided to hitchhike her way to a gas station to call a tow truck. So this guy stops, and he’s driving this hot rod (complete with fuzzy dice and a racing stripe). She gets in, and he takes her to the gas station. Then he offers to drive her back to her car. So she said, he was just casually talking about California and the he asked, “So can I see your boobs?” Jewel said she was freaking out and that she didn’t know whether to try to jump out of the car or charge him. Hehee.. So she said she was sitting there with this frightened look on her face and he was like, “What?” He finally just took her back to her car and left. Of course, I can’t tell the story as well as she can. :)

She also gave her spiel about “Cold Song” being her most profound and intelligent song ever. Hehee…I’d heard that story before though.

The highlight of the evening was when she started to sing “I’m Sensitive.” Now, it just wouldn’t be a Jewel concert if she didn’t forget the words to at least one song. ;) And this was it. She started to sing it, but then couldn’t remember, so she made a girl from the audience come on stage to sing it with her. The girl was freaking out to begin with, and couldn’t remember the words either! So Jewel went and got her book of lyrics and looked it up and they sang it together. Jewel sang “You Were Meant for Me” next and almost forgot the words to it too.

When she sang “Who Will Save Your Soul,” she dedicated it to her bass player, and she almost started crying. :(

She sang “Chime Bells,” so I got to hear her yodel. :-D

She had to bring out someone to play “Intution” on guitar, because she said she didn’t know how to play it yet. It was the first time she had ever tried to do it acoustically, and I thought it sounded great. She made fun of her own dancing in her video, which was really funny.

Umm…I can’t really think of anything else to say about it right now, but I will post later if I remember something!

I’ll be in Atlanta a week from Saturday! :-D

I bought a ticket to the Jewel concert off of ebay last night. Very exciting. I finally get to see my favorite singer live (besides the like five songs I saw her sing at Lilith Fair in 1997). So, yeah, I’m excited. :-D
