It’s that time of year again.

I got to go on the best kind of shopping excursion there is today. Remember when I said that there was nothing better than dying your hair? I forgot about Halloween costume shopping.

As I was driving to Blockbuster today to switch out my movies (got Mulholland Dr. and SLC Punk), I saw a billboard for Party City advertising Halloween stuff.

Flashback to last year.

I was really wanting to go to a costume party last year, but hadn’t gotten any invites, so I never got around to buying a costume. Then on October 30, I was invited to one. Way to be short notice. Except Party City was out of costumes. At least, good ones. So I didn’t go and sat at home and Tera’s hard drive died.

Midnight PriestessGothic Temptress
I’m determined not to let that happen again. So after I went to Blockbuster (and then to Fazoli’s because I was uber-hungry), I drove down the street to Party City. Ah, no noisy and annoying crowds like there are when you are trying to find a costume on October 30. Everything was in stock. I had my choice.

First, I picked up an Evil Pixie costume and tried it on. I really liked this one, just not how it fit. Extremely tight and short. Which isn’t a bad thing, but it was also strapless and I could just imagine all the bad things that could occur with a strapless costume at a crazy party.

Next, I tried a Gothic Pirate costume. It was cute, but it didn’t exactly look right on me.

For my third choice, I found a Midnight Priestess costume (see left). It’s bascially just a velvet cape, but it looks pretty cool on. I held on to that one.

I was about to just get that one when I saw the Gothic Temptress costume (see right). Velvet with lace sleeves. Pretty cool looking. It comes with this massive choker, but I like it better without it. I ended up holding on to that one too.

So, really, to make a long story short, I ended up with two costumes. I better get invited to some parties this year. :-P

I finally got a Scorpio wallet.

Oh. And Warped Tour tickets.

Someone buy me this in black.

Yet another uneventful day. At least, that’s what I expect.

Remember how I was looking for Zodiac wallets like a month or so ago? Well, they seem to be everywhere now. Except I still haven’t been able to find Scorpio!! Ugh. Claire’s had some that were absolutely perfect. Right colors, right size, everything. But no Scorpio. I asked the girl that was working if they had any more, and she said all they had were the ones that were out. I told her I was looking for Scorpio, and she said that she hadn’t seen any. Bleh.

I still haven’t sold my books back. I really need to get around to doing that. I did, however, turn in my keys at work and return my library books. And I also cleaned the living room. Now if I could just find that motivation to clean my bedroom… Nah.

I don’t know what I’m going to wear to the concert on Saturday. Maybe I will steal Brina’s shiny black pants again (assuming she hasn’t packed them already) and wear the same thing (minus the boots…my feet still hate me from the last concert). I mean, really, where else am I gonna wear that top? I don’t know. I’m super excited about this concert, though. :-D

Definitely need a job.

Today I did my annual I-have-no-job-but-summer-is-here-so-I’m-going-to-max-out-my-credit-card shopping. I went for black cargo capris and some black shoes. I came out with black cargo capris, three shirts, some jewelry, and some black shoes. I actually wanted another pair of shoes, but yeah…anyway.

A Perfect Circle in 5 days. :-O I cannot wait.

I went to West Town Mall today to do a little shopping.

While I was purchasing something in the lingerie department at Proffitt’s, one of the employees comes back from her lunch break and tells the other two women that were working there that there had been a bomb threat in the mall. A lot of the stores were closing down. We kind of stood there and nervously joked about it for a moment while my purchase was being rung up.

After I left Proffitt’s, I had to walk all the way to the other side of the mall, because of course I was parked in JC Penney’s parking lot (I usually park in Proffitt’s parking lot, so this was a little weird). Anyway, so I noticed the closer I got to the main entrance of the mall, the more stores were closed. The main entrance itself was taped off and a cop was guarding it. It was a little freaky. I tried to call my best friend just in case I somehow got blown up, but she didn’t answer. I did, however, make it to JC Penney’s safely and even stopped to browse through some purses with Zodiac signs on them (no wallets that I could see).

After that excitement, I decided to continue my shopping at a safer mall and went over to East Town.

I checked all the news websites and didn’t see anything, so I’m supposing the mall didn’t blow up.

Spring is here.

I know this because my left arm (and ONLY my left arm) is bright red. Aren’t sunburns great? And when this goes away, I will have a nicely tanned arm. If only the rest of me were so lucky to be hanging out of the car window for several hours in the middle of the day.

Anyway, I went and saw Hellboy last night. My friends made me. Umm, yeah. Please give me more Eternal Sunshine. Seriously. I’m really glad that I did not have to pay for this movie. I would be demanding my money back. It never fails to amaze me how my best friend and I have completely opposite tastes in movies. She hates Chicago and loves Sweet Home Alabama (not to mention her Star Trek obsession). Need I say more? ;)

Not a whole lot else going on right now. Samantha, who is now six month pregnant, left for Alaska today. She went to the movies with us last night, so I got to see her before she left. Everyone is leaving. I’m not going to have any friends around come mid-May. This perhaps may be why I hope to move to Seattle.

I’ve been in search of a new wallet for awhile now. I’m seriously sick of carrying around a purse, since it basically just holds my huge wallet. I want something small that I can put in my pocket. Well, I went to Wal-Mart a week or two ago, and they had these thin black wallets with zodiac signs on them. Except, of course, they were out of Scorpio. So I go to every Wal-Mart in the Knoxville vicinity. Nothing. Now I’ve been to every Wal-Mart in the Clarksville vicinity. Still nothing. Grr. Capricorn wallets, on the other hand, seem to be in abundance. I guess I am going to have to give up this search, unless I find something online that I like.

I’m tired.

It’s been a busy last few days. I’m working all this weekend, plus I’ve been hanging around with some new people and doing stuff. Tonight I’m going to go see Eternal Sunshine. Yay!! I’m really excited about that.

I went and did a little shopping yesterday with some gift cards and gift certificates that I had. I ended up getting three shirts, a pair of black capris, and a DVD, as well as two more CDs at McKay’s.

I’m loving this weather. I’m so happy that it isn’t cold anymore. :)

Seventy degree weather is not good on my wallet.

I finally got some DVD-RWs so I can back up stuff (doing that as I’m typing this, actually). Gotta send Tera off on Saturday so she can get her headphone jack fixed where I broke it, and hopefully, get her subwoofer fixed too so it sounds good again.

Can you not get just a quart of milk anymore? I went to Wal-mart, so I could get a couple things to eat for today and tomorrow. I wanted to get Teddy Grahams, but you can’t eat Teddy Grahams without milk. Didn’t want to get a half-gallon of milk cause I would never drink that in two days, and it would probably be bad by the time I come back. So I was going to get a quart. But they didn’t have any quarts of regular milk. I ended up getting a quart of chocolate milk instead, which I’m sure will go great with my chocolate Teddy Grahams.

I finally got The Mars Volta CD. That should entertain me on my four hour drive to Clarksville tomorrow.

I have a new favorite store!

I went to the mall after work today to find something to wear to those weddings next Saturday. Tried Proffitt’s and Dillard’s with no luck whatsoever. So I started just walking down the mall, seeing if anything would catch my eye. I was on my way to Sam Goody when I saw that B. Moss was having a 40% off sale on dresses. I thought, why not? So I went in. The people who worked there were super nice, and as soon as I picked up an item, they would go put it in a dressing room for me. I ended up getting a dress there, as well as a suit, a pair of pants, and a blouse. All on sale. Plus I got free gift certificates for the next time I shop there. :-D

Also, it felt really nice out today. It was about 60 degrees out. But I wish someone would tell those teenagers that were walking around the mall that that is not an excuse to break out the halter tops and belly shirts. Sheesh. I must be getting old.

I went shopping today. Spent too much money but got a lot of cute stuff. :)

I’m having another board game party on the 6th or 7th, which will be fun. Brina will be here, so she can be on my team for Cranium. :-D

Hmm…not much else is going on. I’m reading Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz right now. It’s really good; I’m almost done with it.

I want to go see Return of the King again.

All righty.

I went and got my car, and that cost me a pretty penny. So I went shopping to make myself feel better. I got two new cute shirts, some Bath & Body Works stuff, and other things. :) Yay! Clothes shopping is the cure for everything.

And now for another Foxtrot comic…

I’ve been a clothes shopaholic lately. Last week, I bought a pair of pinstripe pants, some jeans, and a pair of socks. Yesterday I got a gorgeous peacoat, and today I bought the most comfy robe ever and some, ahem, other things. I couldn’t resist. I try to go to the mall to browse for Christmas present ideas, and I end up buying clothes. Probably because I haven’t had new clothes in awhile. It feels good to be able to buy some new things.

Oh, and I finally bought an Orinoco card off ebay. It’s silver, not gold, but it should work well. Can’t wait to get it. :-D
