Merry Christmas!

Thanks again to everyone for the great gifts. I received A LOT of sewing supplies, so hopefully I can get all these costumes done! Among other things, I also got Dragon Quest VIII with a demo of Final Fantasy XII that I’m about to check out before I crash into bed. The previews of FFXII so far have me a little skeptical, so I’m looking forward to actually checking it out myself. And, of course, Dragon Quest should be cool. I just need a slime controller…

I put some pictures up. I somehow forgot to take pictures of Lydia while I was there, but she looks so different! Last time I was home, she still looked somewhat kitten-like, but she’s a full cat now. She doesn’t seem to remember me at all either. :(

There will be a board game party sometime in January. Probably towards the beginning. Maybe the 6th or 13th.

I hope everyone out there had a great holiday. :)

Okay, here’s some updates…

I’m almost completely moved into the new apartment. I still have a bunch of little stuff at the old place that I have to get moved over before the end of the month. We got a U-haul on the 20th to move furniture over and the guys somehow ended up getting it stuck between a tree and a picnic table. Luckily the table was there, or it would have gone into the river. We had to call a tow truck to get it out. Lesson learned: Do not try to turn a fully loaded U-haul around on a hill covered with wet grass and mud.

So anyway, all the furniture is over there. I’ll take some pictures and post them when I get completely done.

Since the new apartment doesn’t allow pets at all, I took Lydia to stay with my parents in Clarksville for a little while. They have two cats, Fred and Critter, and they are slowly trying to get them all used to each other. Hopefully by the time I go back for Christmas, they will be living in perfect harmony.

I’m probably going to try to maybe have a board game party after the new year, sometime before school starts.

Almost done with my Christmas shopping.

Oh, yeah. And I’m in love. :)

Being without vehicle is not fun.

My car is being worked on, so I can finally get that huge dent out of the side of it. However, it won’t be ready for about a week. Therefore, I get the joy of relying on other people for rides everywhere. I hate this. I would really like to go driving around right now, as I always do about this time of night, but I can’t. Grr.

All I can do is sit here and play the Six Flags theme song in my head (”We Like to Party” by the Vengaboys, for the curious, but without all the corny lyrics).

Speaking of Six Flags, we are definitely planning another trip for October. We’ll probably go ahead and get season passes, even though the year is almost up. Season passes are basically cheaper than tickets for two days, and we want to spend our whole weekend there. Note to self: see if they sell season passes at the ticket office on campus. Going to be an even better trip. Cooler weather, less people, less daytime, open later, Fright Fest. :)
Ben and I are going to enter the Great Knoxville Rubber Duck Race this weekend. Should be a lot of fun. Cross your fingers for our duck!

I should probably have another board game party in a month or so. It’s been awhile.

Lydia is psycho. I came home today to find her in the cabinet where her food is stored. Apparently she learned how to open it. There was also a glass broken on the floor in the kitchen. And potpourri everywhere.

Jeopardy is getting old.

Okay, so I regularly watch Jeopardy. Think of me what you will because of this fact, but I do. Every day (thanks to TiVo). Anyway, I remember when they lifted the five-day rule last fall. I thought it was kind of neat to see how long someone could go.

Until Ken Jennings.

Now Jeopardy is just boring.

I no longer get to wonder who is going to win. It’s going to be Ken. Every time. I wish they would kick the guy off. They need like a 30-day rule now. Today was like his 30th day. That’s six weeks of being on Jeopardy. The guy is just a little over $20,000 away from a million. I feel sorry for all the people who have to play against him. Obviously, the guy just has more practice with the buzzer than they do.

I want to stop watching, but I can’t. I keep thinking that someone will beat him. A couple weeks ago, someone almost did. Really wish that guy would have. Jeopardy is really boring now. Half the time, I just fast-forward to the end to see if Ken won or not. I don’t even really care about the show anymore.

On a side note, I named the kitten Lydia.

Yay! I got a kitten!

I haven’t fully decided on a name for her yet. I picked her up yesterday and she spent the majority of the evening exploring every inch of my apartment. Now I just need to get used to sniffling and sneezing all the time. I do, however, plan on keeping my bedroom a kitten-free zone, so that I will be able to sleep in peace. Anyway, here’s some cute kitten pictures:

Aww. She was sitting on the back of the couch last night, sleeping, while we were watching Along Came Polly. Pretty funny movie, by the way.

Tonight is the Fourth of July party. Hopefully I will have some pictures up by tomorrow. Oh yeah, and I don’t have to work. Yay!

I can’t believe I’ve been writing in this blog for over a year now.
